Step 1
Find a good size stick that will be long enough to cover your window. Sand it down and stain it whatever color you like. I used Rust-Oleum Dark Walnut.
Step 2
Gather some sticks or grass or you can buy some from Joanne's. I spray painted it with Rust-Oleum Oil Rubbed Bronze, which was super dark. You can do whatever color you want or leave it natural.
Step 3
Tie a handful of the painted grass to the end of the broomstick with a bit of twine. You could use some glue if you want, but I didn't.
Step 4
Remove the hook part of 2 wire 2lb Command Hooks. Wrap some fishing line through and around the hole, and tie a knot or two. You don't want it to be able to slide around too much. Attach the sticky back to the hook over the line, so that it sticks to the fishing line.
Step 5
Remove the wall-side of the sticky and attach to the ceiling, or in our case cabinet. You should have a good bit of the fishing line hanging down.
Step 6
Tie the fishing wire around the broomstick and secure with a few knots. Cut the excess line. You should have a floating broomstick! Now you can add the curtains or just leave as a decoration.
